Chilly Days - Peppers & Snow

Really, late March and we’re registering record 24hr snowfalls in the region.  I’m not so convinced about the “global” part of this warming thing. 

 Alas, the cold snap did provide what my neighbor Shannon needed to fully enjoy Chili Fest 2008… she was worried weeks ago that the the warmer temps just wouldn’t inspire her to make/eat/judge the best chili.

The votes are in and neighbor PG (my name for him as Porch Guy), Steve has legitimately taken the silver spoon from ‘07 champion Lance.

New to this tradition last year, I do wonder at the reward a bit.  Not the spoon part as much as, the winner hosts next year?  For me, a decent disincentive against putting all my glory into the perfect chili.  Ok, so I didn’t contribute an ounce of energy or talent to this year’s entry (it was all Eric), but you just never know - inspiration can come and go!
